Back for another year of fighting Breast Cancer, Gamer's Giving Back and the Gaming World Entertainment Network is proud to once again host Pink Day in LA, an online event bringing the Guild Wars community together to raise Breast Cancer awareness and donations for the Canadian Cancer Society.
Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available!
Earlier this year, ArenaNet launched Guild Wars 2, and we are happy to say that we will not only be holding in-game activities in Guild Wars 1, but also in Guild Wars 2! Not only that, but we encourage the communities who play Rift, Firefall, and League of Legends to rally everyone in their respective games to support this awesome cause as we do have a lot of goodies for each game!
The best way to get in on the action is to be sure to tune into the Gaming World Entertainment Network as a lot of great prizes will be given out over the course of the 6-hour event. You can even listen directly on the GW-EN website! Even if you don't play any of the games listed above, we challenge everyone to bring Pink Day to their favorite game in anyway they can! Then, share your awesomely-pink pictures and videos with the community! It's all about spreading the word!
There will be up to 3 international districts of Lion's Arch dedicated for the event where in-game trivia and catering (with in-game goodies, of course) will be held.
Since Guild Wars 2 is so new and guesting has not be implemented yet, we have come up with a strategy to make sure that everyone can participate to the fullest! We really want people to be able to participate, so we have a possible 9 servers that are prepared to be hosted for the actual in-game event. A hosted server is one where events are planned for by the GW-EN and GGB community, but other servers are very welcome to join in with their own events and sharing the experience*!
* Servers and Details are subject to change based on changes over the next month. (Thanks for your patience)
The list of servers are as follows:
For a server to be active for hosting for Pink Day in LA, there needs to be 10 dedicated volunteers to be trained for the in-game events that are to be carried out! Please email Rhonda (Malibu Barbie) if your guild, alliance, or website is interested in hosting a different server that is not listed above. Details are still being worked on, but 10 is the amount needed for the 6 hours of the event.
